Joe Lee, in 1975, mapped out this new 18-hole challenge. With his trademark fairway bunkers situated in precarious locations, Indian Mound plays through some of Jekyll Island's most pristine woodlands showing off what Jekyll Island's nature has to offer. Lee named it Indian Mound, after the large oyster shell middens deposited by aboriginal tribes hundreds of years prior. Indian Mound, like Jekyll Island's other courses is unaffected by residential or commercial development which adds to its beauty.
